Welcome to our blog,

a collective assortment of what's going on in the MBM world. Come back regularly to see what's new - we'll try and keep it interesting for you!

Well, it is sad but true. Today is my last day at MBM. We are parting amicably however – I’m getting married and moving to Charlottesville! But before I do Maggi asked that I take some time to write the obligatory farewell blog post, which I am very much obliged to do.

For the past few months my days have been filled with marketing to-dos, and my nights equally filled with wedding prep. It feels like the wedding industry was waiting to pounce. The barrage of wedding-related emails, voicemails, postcards, banner ads, vacation packages that “really aren’t too good to be true, just come to an informational meeting to claim your prize!”, etc, has been nuts to say the least. The bulk of this blitz of advertising has been for things I don’t need but felt guilted or harassed into needing, which is no way to start out the rest of eternal couplehood! So after all the push for excess wedding pomp, it occurred to me – I know what I want and what I need. I just need help from people that are willing to see things my way and don’t have their own agenda. It makes sense to me that this is not only the mantra of smart brides but also the genius of smart marketing.

The women at MBM all possess this particular genius. They are interested in clients’ stories and in telling them the right way. They know how to listen and make decisions cooperatively and thoughtfully. They will help talk you through what you want and need so that you can succeed on your own terms. Add in the fact that they’re all uber-creative and fun to work with, and what’s not to love? I’ve loved working here and with so many great people. I’ll miss it, and I’ll miss the blog! But there’s still MBM’s holiday party tonight! And if MBM does one final thing well, it’s celebrate.

Happy New Year and good luck in 2012!

Lauren
