Welcome to our blog,

a collective assortment of what's going on in the MBM world. Come back regularly to see what's new - we'll try and keep it interesting for you!

My mother is spending the week with me. She’s 78 going on 92, bless her heart (as we say in the South). She moves slowly, eats slowly, and talks slowly (but a lot). Her visit has required me to amp up my patience quotient, and to be more thoughtful about the events I plan with her. This means she sits in the car while I pop into the grocery store, I have to learn where the elevators are at the Landmark Theater and CenterStage, and I need to allow an extra 15 minutes coming and going.

But it’s not all that bad. I’m a fairly patient person anyway, and this week is reminding me how lucky I am to be so mobile now, and that I might not always be (although now I’m more committed to my Ashtanga Practice than ever). Patience is important at work, too. Not everyone thinks the same way (which is a good thing) and so it helps to be patient while others think through issues and come to conclusions.

And you can’t rush new business development. Some of our favorite clients came to us after a long courtship…several after they’d decided not to date us and moved on to someone else. But then they came back, and the love was greater than ever! It seems that we offer a truly unique approach to marketing and client services. And sometimes it takes awhile to find the clients who value and appreciate what we do and how we do it.

So, I’m practicing patience this week. Deep breaths, shoulders back and continuing to search out that new business relationship…
