I know I’m not a familiar face to most patrons of the blog, so I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Lauren, and due to recent fortuitous events I am now working at MBM as their newest intern! It’s a tough job market and because of that I feel very lucky to be here. Plus I’m learning a ton!
Since finishing school and entering the real world, I’ve realized what a big role confidence plays in how successful you are. I think it’s fair to say that most young college grads these days don’t have a solid idea of what they want to do – they have ideas (plural) but not a lot of direction. After some soul-searching, I have to conclude (is it really this simple?): It doesn’t matter. Just decide who you want to be, and move confidently in that direction. The doing will follow, and will likely come naturally.
The same is true in the marketing world. Brands that are confident about who they are and what they stand for – stand out – and people notice. Not only do they notice in fact, they’re usually loyal to a fault. Confidence is infectious, and more importantly, it can take you places. Is your company asserting itself? Or getting lost in the crowd? The payoff could be worth some soul-searching of your own.
