On Monday, I accompanied Courtney and Kelly to DC for the National Capital Bank photo shoot. I had never been to a professional photo shoot and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Luckily, my first experience was a great one.
We left Richmond at 5 a.m., so I was worried that time would slowly creep by and we would all run out of energy. Thanks to Kelly’s careful planning, we stayed busy and remained on schedule, making the day fly by. I was so glad to meet everyone at the bank so I could finally put some names with faces. I enjoyed seeing how everyone worked together and interacted with customers. It was immediately evident why so many people are happy banking there (and why customers were willing to sign photo releases to appear in the bank’s marketing materials).
Joining the photo shoot was a great opportunity because I had the chance to see the whole process. Each photo requires more attention to detail than I originally thought. I learned all about lighting, camera angles, focus, and most importantly, the planning that goes into making a photo shoot happen. Without Courtney and Kelly’s ability to carefully plan the day’s events, the photo shoot would not have been as successful as it was.
I just finished looking at the proofs from the photo shoot and I think all the photos turned out really well. It’s nice working with a team that gives an intern cool opportunities, has great relationships with its clients, and yields positive results.
